With the ever-growing power of ISIS and its plans for world conquest, Midnight Sun King Yaiba of Atlantias was incredibly outraged and furious at this. Seeking for help, he made a formal alliance with Pope John Paul III, the patriarch of the Vatican and leader of the Roman Catholic Church. Yaiba made a statement that all of Christendom must unite once again under the banner of Catholicism to fight the Islamist superpower. He also requested help from the United States, NATO and allies to fight off the terror. Pope John Paul III agreed and demanded the dismantling of Protestantism and the reunification of Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Churches under the Latin Church. All the Christian nations throughout the globe made an alliance called the "Great Catholic League", politically led by the Holy Atlantian Empire and religiously by the Vatican Holy See.
On July 4, 2051, the Pope declared a "holy war" against the invading Islamist armies, a worldwide campaign officially called the "Tenth Crusade" as part of the global conflict known as World War III. Those who aided and joined the Christian armies would receive absolution for their sins, as long as they bore the cross. Catholics from across the world, with the aid of the Eurasian Union and Arab League governments-in-exile formed an army of 100,000,000 and marched into the North Africa, Central Asia and the Middle East, liberating countries such as Egypt, Libya, Pakistan, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and Turkey. Since Atlantia's military, technology and central planning are far more advanced and sophisticated than the Islamic State's, it only took a mere six months before the IS finally surrendered and dismantled by January 20, 2052. After six months of brutal fighting, a massive death toll of 750 million casualties, military and civilian, and a hundred nuclear strikes from both the League and the IS, the Tenth Crusade was a success for America, Asia and Europe, and in the aftermath against all odds, various Christian states were founded in the Middle East.
On February 1, 2052, in celebration to the Christian victory over the infidels, construction on the Third Jewish Temple in the Holy City of Jerusalem began and completed by April 10. On Easter Sunday of 2052, the Third Temple opened to the world and all eleven billion people celebrated worldwide. King Yaiba and the Pope also proclaimed Jerusalem as "the eternal symbol of God's divinity, power and dominion over all of humanity". Soon, it became the capital of the newly-established Federal Union of Christian Kingdoms, created of twelve Christian realms in the Mediterranean and Asia.
The Federal Union of Christian Kingdoms would become the world's only leading superpower and bulwark of Christianity's foundation. Yaiba gave back the Manchus, Chinese, Filipinos, Vietnamese, Cambodians and Lao sovereignty and power over their lands, but in exchange, the Philippines, Manchukuo, Vietnam, Cambodia and Laos, the three latter which joined to form the Indochinese Christian Federation, became full members of the Christian Union. All of Italy was then under the direct sovereignty of the Pope, as parts of it were many centuries ago. The Divine Realm of New Byzantium was founded as the second incarnation of the Byzantine Empire, but this time, it would be a Catholic nation under the Christian Union. Spain and Portugal merged as one as the Catholic State of Iberia. The religious confederation functions much similar to the Holy Roman Empire from the previous millennium. The Pope would be a ceremonial head of state of the Union, but the King and the Prime Minister would hold true power as well as the people and clergies in general.
