THE DARKNESS RETURNS

As the entire Las Pegasus devolved into the total pandemonium, we all ran as fast as we could across the street. It was a miracle that we even made it back to Chaud's house in one piece. I screamed at the top of my lungs as I sprinted across the front lawn with Cyber Gamer and Midnight Shadows right beside me.

“This way!” Cyber cried out, “We’re almost there! We’re so close!”

I panted heavily as I quickly pulled the door open and we ran inside.

All of the party guests were now staring at us with the music still blaring loudly. The house looked like it was still perfect shape despite an extremely powerful earthquake just struck the city. Chaud sat in a bubble chair in the living room and raised an eyebrow at us as we tried to catch our breath.

“Hey, you guys okay?” Chaud asked, looking at us like we'd gone insane.

“No, you guys okay?” spoke Cyber urgently, “There was a crazy earthquake. Did you guys feel that? That was insane.”

“Buck, no,” Chaud scoffed us off and boasted, “We can’t feel anything in here. This place is bucking fortress!”

I shook my head, speaking up, “That wasn’t an earthquake, pal. That was something a whole lot crazier.”

“What’s crazier than an earthquake?” Summer Sketch asked.

“There were strong currents of wind, rains of fire and also,” Midnight Shadows spoke up, “the sky went completely black and bolts of lightning striking each second… We even saw a tornado in the distance!”

“She’s on hallucinogens,” Bright Idea blurted out mockingly. In response, ponies laughed, treating our whole testimony as a joke.

“Come on, ponies, don’t bully an alicorn. She could be a princess from another country or dimension. Either way, she’s a sweetheart,” the unicorn Connie reassured the chuckling congregation before turning to us, asking, “Keep going, guys, what are you talking about?”

I stepped in and continued where Midnight left off, saying, “There were ponies and they were there, and out of nowhere, there were giant monkey-looking monsters with wings suddenly bursting from the ceiling… Those monsters got the ponies and sucked them up into the sky.”

“Sucked up into the sky?” Chaud said, “Nopony got sucked up here.”

“I got sucked off here~” Ryan sang while flirting with his marefriend Asper and pouring themselves with a bottle of apple cider. This made the party ponies laugh their flanks off even more.

Before I could say anything else, I looked at Midnight who was apparently pissed at the ponies not believing in us and watched as her horn glowed black, green, and purple. Our group was struck with it and we were sent somewhere else, in what seems to be a limbo-like dimension. When we got to wherever we were teleported to, everyone from Chaud’s was there as well.

“What the…” muttered Chaud, “Where the hell are we?! Why are we not in my house anymore?!”

“I think we might be trippin’,” spoke Connie confusedly.

“I kept telling you to lay off the cocaine, dude!” Firefall scolded Cody.

“I can’t help it! I just felt so good, dude,” Cody yelled back.

“I can only keep this up for a short amount of time. It isn’t magic I’m used to. Come with me, we’ll be safe in this dimension for a while,” Midnight snapped, pointing at the group who has been with her for a while before walking off into an empty area of wherever we were.

“Other than Paint Sketch, has anyone been to the Crystal Empire recently?” She let out a sigh when they all shook their heads no. She turned to me before continuing. “Did you by chance go to the library?”

“Yeah, I did,” I replied anxiously, “That’s one thing, I didn’t mention. I picked up a very old-looking book under a bookshelf and suddenly, I had this crazy vision out of nowhere…”

“What is that pony talking about?” Spell Writer said, “I think he too is on hallucinogens.”

She let out a string of curses in a good twenty-four languages, if not more before speaking in the one language we could all understand, English. “The book was under the shelf for a reason. You finding it and taking it is what caused this!!” she yelled at me as I noticed her growing angrier by the minute. Among her red face, was a light blush on her cheeks.

“Look,” I retorted at the fuming alicorn, “I didn’t know all this was gonna happen because of that old book! I mean for all I care, I didn’t know what the hell kind of shenanigans or drugs Star Swirl the Bearded was up to make a book called ‘Revelations of the Apocalypse’.”

“It’s called ‘Revelations of the Apocalypse’ for a reason, you idiot! Did you even look at the cover?!?” she angrily snapped, causing the rest of the group to back away from us out of fear for her.

“What’s wrong with her??” shrieked Blimp.

Erudite guessed, “I think she’s had meth overdose.”

“I looked at the cover alright, genius,” I replied, “Maybe all this was happening because of that darn book. Maybe it’s not. Maybe for all we know, a villain might caused some damage in Tambelon or wherever the buck Princess Twilight and Prince Courageous are, and maybe that’s what started this friggin’ whole mess! Why are you jumping to conclusions right away?”

“Seriously,” Cyber murmured, scratching his head in confusion, “I don’t know what this is all about.”

“Because when I explained my past to you, I left things out. Things this book, will unleash. Thanks to you, all of us have to fight!” She snapped, motioning to the group behind her, then motioning to me.

“The book… reveals everything… It will serve… as an instrument… of both destruction… and salvation…” a eerily familiar voice called out.

“Who said that?!” Tricky Fox cried as the rest of the crowd freaked out as well by the sudden call of the voice.

I and Midnight looked around to see where the voice came from. And the answer came in the form of what I didn’t expect to see again after a day…

The same mysterious entity in yellow cloak wearing the medallion, the one I met in the Crystal Empire and the one who led me to that book in the first place, emerged from the shadows and appeared before the two of us.

“YOU!” I and Midnight shouted at the sudden appearance of the unknown being in unison. Immediately after, we looked at each other in confusion after we just shouted the same word together.

“So… you already knew…” the unknown creature whispered.

“What is the meaning of this?!” I continued to grumble in confusion.

“My friends… Darkness is coming…” the entity in yellow warned, “Be prepared… Discard your bliss and ignorance… Work together… and an answer will come to you… even in the darkest hour…”

“What the hell do you mean by that?!” I complained, “Are you saying that the book really is responsible for this!? Come straight, dead-weight!!”

Before anything could happen though, the yellow being faded away from our sights and the effects of Midnight’s magic wore off, as we were transported back to where we were, in Chaud’s house. Everypony in the pony except for Midnight murmured and clamored in confusion and anxiety at the sudden shift of events for us.

“Okay, what the hay was that about?” Cyber asked, “You transported us to a very dark place that we don’t know about, probably giving some of us friggin’ heart attack, and brought us back for no good reason?”

“Midnight, what the hell is going on? Do you know this creepy yellow guy too?!” I exhaled and interrogated the alicorn nervously.

Midnight opened her mouth but before she could speak again in retaliation, another earthquake shook and this time, it was affecting the house as well. The rumbling could be heard, posters were falling off the walls, lamps, Hearth’s Warming trees, decorations and posts were collapsing and ponies and guests were beginning to panic, as we all screamed and headed outside to the lawn right in front of the house.

“This place is safe!” Chaud cried.

“This place is not safe!” Mint Heart’s voice shouted back.

“Connie, where are you going, pal?!” shouted Chaud.

“It’s a bucking earthquake!” replied the unicorn before running off too, while smoking a joint.

“Buck!” Chaud huffed in frustration as he joined the crowd of party guests running out of the house with earthquake continuing the ravage the area.

“Don’t go to the grass! Not everypony on the grass!” Chaud warned to the crowd while running outside too.

When we stopped running and got to the grass lawn just right outside in front of Chaud’s house, I stood between Cyber Gamer and Midnight Shadows as we and the entire party looked in the distance absolutely disturbed and horrified of what we were seeing, on what happened to Las Pegasus while all this out-of-nowhere rampant chaos and tragedy was happening.

We gazed at the distance as the sky was completely dark, starless and stormy with thunder rumbling and lightning striking all about. We also looked terrified as the Applewood Hills and the surrounding villages and districts were blazing in huge flames and emitting massive amount of smoke into the dark skies. The entire crowd shivered and clamored in fear and terror upon the unseen disaster and destruction we were witnessing at a cataclysmic level.

Suddenly, a large bolt of lightning struck in front of us and made us scream and all back away in surprise and horror. It wasn’t near us but it was enough to make us freeze in fear.

The situation didn’t become much better as we were now seeing something else in the void-like thundering skies of the ruined Las Pegasus: a huge, dark, terrifying apparition of a creature, a slightly visible image of a horrifying abomination appeared in the sky for all of us to see.

Once again, Midnight let out a string of words, which I’m assuming was a string of curses, in various languages. Probably out of fear as to what was happening, and the other out of anger.

The creature’s image appears to be what looks like the body of a pony but not really. The pony’s body was just the apparition’s lower portion with the upper one being a humongously monstrous torso with red fur clad in black armor, sharp claws, a face of a baphomet, massive bull-like horns and black void eyes. In absolute horror, I recognize who it was.

“MORTALS OF THE WORLD, HEAR ME!!!” the image of the great dark behemoth in the sky bellowed in a loud, booming voice for all of Equestria and possibly beyond across the world to hear, “I AM LORD TIREK THE SUPREME, THE ALL-POWERFUL MASTER OF DARKNESS!! I AND MY HEGEMONY CONTROL THIS ENTIRE REALM! ONLY YOU, YOUR PRECIOUS COURAGEOUS HEART AND THE ELEMENTS OF HARMONY DARED TO RESIST ME!!!”

This took me back to the stories I knew of the Elements of Harmony and Courageous Heart, the Champion of the Light. Over a decade ago, mortal archenemies Courageous and Tirek reemerged in the present day to do battle, the latter to accomplish his task four millennia ago in taking over all of Creation and the former to prevent such an occurrence from happening. Together with the Light at their beckon call, Courageous, the Elements of Harmony and the forces of Equestria vanquished the Dark Lord in a final battle, or so they thought.

I glanced over to the alicorn Midnight. She was shaking slightly and muttering something in a different language I didn’t recognize. I remembered what she said about Tirek when she told me about her past. She mentioned she escaped. Meaning… she was probably afraid that Tirek could be after her…

Before I could think anymore, the apparition of Tirek continues to roar, “BUT IT’S OVER! I’VE WON!! YOUR BELOVED ELEMENTS AND PRINCE OF COURAGE HAVE SURRENDERED TO ME… AND YOU ARE ALL NEXT!!!!”

Based from what the image of the great dark behemoth said, with the assumption of what probably happened with Courageous Heart and the other heroes of the world, the situation couldn’t be good. To assume that “this isn’t good” would the understatement of the century.

“YOU HAVE ONE LAST NIGHT TO SAVOR YOUR DESPAIR…” the howling voice of the Dark Lord resumed to boast, while we all continued to cower in fear of the beast’s presence, “YOU WILL REGRET DEFYING ME!!!”

I turned my head again to Midnight Shadows who was still shaking and speaking in a language I didn’t understand. I was beginning to be really worried for her, especially given the past that she shared me with…

“THERE WILL BE NO DAWN FOR YOU MORTALS TOMORROW!!” Tirek’s apparition declared one last time before fading away, “SOON, YOUR WORLD WILL RETURN TO WHERE IT WAS ONCE BEFORE CREATION… IN DARKNESS!!!!! BWAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!”

After Tirek’s image laughed evilly, it completely disappeared into the dark skies that continued to thunder and strike fear into many of us, especially with what just happened in the city.

I turned my head around again to see that Midnight finally returned to normal after his apparition vanished. I knew she was still scared as ever, given the calamities that just struck the city, just not as bad now that he vanished. I was afraid of what would really happen when he actually returns, I wonder? What would she do?

To make matters even worse, we saw now that right after the Dark One’s image in the sky was gone, a massive swarm of winged monsters such as gargoyles, cockatrices, wyverns, zilants, manticores, minokawas, nues and more, counting about over a hundred, appeared on the stormy sky far from yet facing all of us. We were just as afraid as ever as the winged enemies of the dark were ready for the hunt.

“WHAT THE BUCK?!!” the pony Jessica Pedley screamed, freaked out and ran from the sidewalk towards us while holding a bottle of champagne with a ribbon it, “OH CELESTIA!! WHAT’S HAPPENING?!”

Then, the pegasus Cody, who was now more wasted than he ever was, trudged through the crowd and was facing us, looking really irritated and angry and yelling, “Okay, everypony, listen up! What’s up? Who took my fucking cellphone, dude?!”

Cody pointed his hoof at the hippogryph Silver Quill, who was among the crowd, and shouted accusingly, “Silver, empty your pockets!”

Silver Quill just flipped him off and yelled back, “Oh, buck you, Cody! I didn’t take your cellphone! Why don’t you just lay off the cocaine for one second?!”

The coke-high Cody apparently did not buy Silver’s statement and continued rambling, “I saw you in the bathroom! Eh… Somepony dial my phone! Shut the fuck up! Unbelievable! It’s unacceptable after all the coke I wasted on you ponies and just thrown away!”

“I told you I didn’t take your bucking cellphone,” Silver Quill replied.

While Cody continued to whine about his cellphone, we saw a big gargoyle approaching closer towards us and flying towards to where Cody was apparently standing on. We kept yelling at the cocaine-addict pegasus to move out of the way, but he was just too wasted and/or ignorant to notice something on his back.

As the gargoyle landed right behind Cody, it quickly lunged its claws towards the pony and grabbed hold of him. We all screamed as the huge winged monster who was almost as tall as Chaud’s house was in our presence and tightly trapped Cody with its massive claws.

“What’s happening? What’s happening to me?” Cody choked while futilely trying to get out the gargoyle’s hand that was constricting him.

All of a sudden, the gargoyle flapped its wings and flew up into the air with Cody still trapped on its hand as we all continued to scream in terror.

Cody picked up his ringing iPhone that was cracked and groaned, “Oh shit, that’s embarrassing…”

Once again, another earthquake struck again, catching us all off guard. Afterwards, the gargoyle, along with Cody who was still screaming for help, flew up and away into the thundering dark sky and vanished from sight.

Without any warning, the army of winged beasts flew down and swooped towards to ground to capture their prey. The entire crowd ran around and aimlessly, panicking at the horrifying scenario they had themselves in.

One by one, everypony was getting captured by the gargoyles and the like. Heartpaw, Cadet, Headlight Sketch, Symphony Diamond, Cosmo Star, Gamer Comic, Spell Writer, Silver Quill, Katty and many more were abducted at the clutches of the winged monsters that we had no capability of fighting off whatsoever. Whatever chance of survival we had in the ensuing carnage was almost nil.

I couldn’t see nor find Cyber, Chaud, Summer or Midnight Shadows among the crowd that was helplessly wandering around in frenzies and leaving themselves open to capture. But I hoped that all five of them didn’t get caught and they managed to somehow get out of this convoluted mess.

At one point, I saw Bright Idea, who was backing off a gargoyle by swinging a frying pan back and forth rapidly, cry for help, “Connie! Connie, please help! Help me! I can’t hold it back much longer!”

But Connie kept running away anyway and shouted, “It’s too late for you! You’re already caught!”

“What the heck are you talking about?!” Bright Idea babbled in disbelief. She was clearly crying for help yet Connie just ignored it although he took notice of it. I would want to help, however those winged monsters were circling all around the crowd and they were just too strong to handle for a normal pony like me, so there was not much I could do about it.

I saw Jessica Pedley, still holding her bottle of champagne, trotting amongst the stampede when she unwittingly pushed Dove Fennel out of the way and accidentally into the waiting claws of a wyvern. Upon seeing that she accidentally had Dove captured, she muttered, “Sorry,” and continued to run.

Luckily, I managed to get away from the stampede and hide under a thick bush where hopefully I won’t get seen by the beasts flying across the place. I was sweating heavily and breathing nonstop in total anxiety as I continued to witness gargoyles, wyverns, cockatrices and others foalnapping Blue Pixie, Princess Kitty Mae, Nyx, Pyro, Lucky Die, Nejcrozi, Meline, Blimp, Erudite Vespula and many more. It was not made better that the earthquake was still going on, making it difficult for non-flying ponies to get away from the scene.

Overlooking from the bush, I saw Bright Idea, who was still barely trying to fight off the gargoyle, grab the purple fox Fire Jade by the hindleg, tripping him, pulling towards her and begging him his help.

“Geez, get the buck off me, Bright Idea!” shouted Fire Jade as he started kicking her with his other hindleg, expecting for her to let go of her grip on him.

Unfortunately, this distraction gave the gargoyle the incentive to finally capture Bright Idea and take her away into the sky, while she was still holding onto Fire Jade. Apparently, he did not take well.

“AAH, NO! GET YOUR BUCKING HOOVES OFF ME! GET YOUR BUCKING…” Fire Jade cried and shook his body like a filly in tantrums. This was enough for Bright to let go of the fox and had him to fall down freely in the air, only for him to get caught by a cockatrice in return.

I was so terrified by the horror I was seeing with my very own eyes, that I unknowingly backed away from the bush and had myself open to capture, to the point where I didn’t notice the last gargoyle looming behind me was about to lunge in towards me for the catch.

By the turn I would’ve turned my head around, it would have been too late. Fortunately and unfortunately, Shadow Thunder pushed me out of the way and had herself get caught by the gargoyle.

“No! Nooooooooooooo!!!” I cried out as I saw the pony who saved me disappear into the sky with the gargoyle that took hold of her.

It was all over for now. I didn’t see anymore winged monster in the sky. They were all gone. But so was nearly everyone in the entire party that was ruined by the terrible cataclysm. All the party guests, friends, hopefully not all of them, at the claws of those beasts that I assumed were Tirek’s offshoots in his army for his conquest once again on the world. I looked around to see that I’m the only pony left standing in the ruined grassy yard of Chaud’s house.

“Buck,” I sighed as I retreated back into Chaud’s house where I hoped that there were survivors in this whole situation, most especially Cyber and Midnight. First, I was invited to a party I didn’t really want to go, then a series of disasters destroyed much of Las Pegasus, on the holiday season no less, then the Dark Lord was back and now, nearly everypony was gone, presumably leaving only me alone… this was really the worst day of my life.

I saw the five surviving ponies, Chaud, Cyber, Midnight, Connie and Summer who all retreated back to the former’s house, worried and freaked out about the unseen chaos that just happened. I was immediately greeted by Cyber, full of concern on his face, hugging me. I was very relieved to see my best friend well and alive in the house.

“Paint, I’m so glad you’re still alive,” the yellow unicorn groaned.

“I’m not dead yet,” I spoke, thinking that my best friend was just overreacting a little bit.

“I told you guys not to go outside!” I heard Chaud’s voice yelling out in frustration, “What just happened?!”

“Holy Celestia, they are all bucking gone!” Connie cried, “Abducted by those ugly winged apes whatever you call those!”

“They’re gargoyles,” I responded while walking to a nearby couch to sit on and try to relax even after the horrible crap that came before.

“You alright?” asked Midnight, approaching to check on me.

“I told you guys not to run outside!” Chaud repeated what he just shouted.

“I tried to save Bright Idea,” Connie whimpered, holding his marefriend, Summer Sketch, tightly with his hooves, “I tried…”

“You did your best, honey… I love you,” cried Summer, as the couple tearfully held close and hugged each other.

“WHY THE FUCK DID YOU GUYS RUN OUT THERE?!!” panicked Chaud.

“You know what, Chaud, can you lower your voice?!” Connie called out to the blue pegasus, “You’re freaking out Paint!”

“Maybe, I’m a little freaked out too!” Chaud yelled back.

“He’s not as strong as you,” Summer Sketch replied.

“Look at my house!” the dark-blue pegasus stallion cried out.

“I tried to save them, they all got caught,” I muttered before Summer placed her hooves on my mouth, causing me to get a bit irritated, swipe her hoof off and said, “Get your feathering hands off me, Summer, stop touching me.”

“Can we get Paint some water, please?” Summer pleaded.

“Can we get him some hydration?” asked Midnight Shadows with a shed of worry, “He needs to be hydrated.”

“The water’s not working!” Cyber Gamer clamored as he opened the faucet on the kitchen sink nearby but nothing came out at all.

“Everyone just runs out the door,” Chaud was still complaining.

Connie picked up his cellphone to try to turn it on but to no avail, prompting him to say, “My phone is dead.”

“Guys, the fucking Internet is not working!” Cyber cried, as he futilely attempted to open his laptop to also get nothing.

“Let’s watch the TV!” Chaud told us urgently, picking up the remote and pushing the ON button, as well gathered together closely, “Let’s check the news.”

“Where is the TV?” I asked.

      “In the floor,” Chaud replied.

“In the floor? That’s dope,” I remarked. We were all impressed as a large flat-screen TV slowly ascended from a part of the floor.

      “Yeah, cool, huh?” Chaud said.

“That is really neat,” Connie spoke.

“That is impressive, Chaud,” Summer continued.

As the TV finally lifted up for us from the floor to see, it turned on to get to the various emergency news reports regarding to the situation going on right now, each one cutting to another with every succeeding news giving us more anxiety and concern than we already were.

“…by a 9.8 magnitude earthquake with currently increasingly casualties, the biggest earthquake to ever hit Equestria…”

“…officers urging ponies to stay in their homes right now. And also reports of looting and rioting are spreading across the city, as well as gargoyles swarming the sky abducting ponies all over. Police are pretty much outnumbered in the ensuing chaos. Martial law has now been declared.”

“There are currently rumors going on that Courageous Heart turned to the dark side and swarmed Tambelon, his own kingdom with monsters. Those rumors haven't confirmed yet as true as of this hour. The current whereabouts Courageous and his family as well as Tambelon are unknown.”

“…as the governments of El Caballo, Shamrock and Saddle Arabia declared a state of emergency as of 10:17 PM, deploying their armed forces across…”

“Wonderbolts Equestria and Tambelon Divisions have gone down…”

The last news reported was suddenly interrupted when the signal was completely cut off from the TV that now only read “No signal”.

“Great!” Chaud muttered under his breath, repeatedly pushing the buttons on his TV remote to try to get it back on, “It’s gone, guys.”

I stood up and sighed, looking at my pal Cyber Gamer, “So, I think we should… um, I think we should probably go back to your place, eh?”

“What are you talking about, pal?” Cyber shook his head and replied negatively, “No, no way. I’m not… I’m not leaving here.”

“I don’t want to die at Chaud Starpower’s house,” I said with my ears drooped a bit.

“You heard the TV,” Cyber spoke cautiously to me, “The TV said stay here. It said stay in your homes. We need to stay here until they start rescuing ponies, okay?!”

Then, another rumbling was felt in this house. It was not another earthquake but rather from a nearby explosion. That was another thing going on outside. With all the explosions, roaring and gunfire sounds we were hearing outside, I assumed that the chaos in Las Pegasus escalated when the flying monsters were ravaging across the town and the Equestrian military was trying to fight off the monstrous hordes.

“WHAT THE FLYING TARTARUS WAS THAT?!” Summer Sketch jumped in surprise.

“It’s already going crazy out there, guys!” exhaled Cyber, “We can’t leave… I’m not leaving, okay? I’m a victim. I’ve had a victim’s mentality my whole life. Ponies can smell it on me. I have arachnophobia. When I was a colt, the bullies put me in a locker and put a spider inside shortly after.”

“That’s what’s happening out there right now!” shouted Chaud.

“We are all soft!” Connie scowled, trotting to a side of the wall, “We are all soft! We are ponies! We pretend to be hard, dudes! We’re soft as baby shit!”

“As baby shit?! Soft as ba…” Chaud muttered loudly before noticing Connie was about to tear out a painting on a canvas he had on the wall and quickly flying towards him, yelling, “Wait, Connie, what the heck are you doing, dude? Hey, hey, what are you doing?! What are you doing with that painting, dude?!”

“We got to board this shit up, man!” Connie answered Chaud who was blocking his way to the painting.

      “Board it up?” Chaud uttered.

“We’ve got to protect ourselves!” Connie convincingly shouted, “We don’t know how long we’re gonna be in here! There’s bandits, raccoons, monsters and shit out there! If you get out the way…!”

“This is Obey, dude!” Chaud yelled at Connie while he was struggling to prevent from getting the painting behind him, “This is my favorite feathering painting!! What are you doing, dude?! Guys, help! Help! Get off!”

Afterwards, we were hearing sounds of a helicopter from a distance and looked to see that a helicopter was approaching near for our horse. We felt for a short moment in time that we were safe. Or so we thought.

Connie and Chaud stopped fighter with latter cheering happily, “Helicopter! Helicopter! The good guys are here! We’re fine! It’s gonna be fine!”

And then it was not. The helicopter was badly damaged with one of its wings torn up and smoking. It crash-landed near our house, exploded and had another of its wings flung towards a window and into this house, impaling the painting like a fast-paced spear stuck onto a wall.

Connie, apparently hurt by the impact, screamed and jumped around in pain. We were all shocked by what just happened, as the unicorn continue cry out, “OH, GODDAMN!!! OH, SHIT!!”

      “You okay?” asked Chaud.

“No, I’m not okay! Fuck your house, Starpower!” Connie angrily seethed, showing a very tiny cut of blood on the bottom of his left hoof. Overreact much, jackass?

“My house didn’t do that!” Chaud shouted back as Connie continued to back away in pain. Chaud stepped closer at the helicopter blade and touched it, but it was too painfully hot and he backed off in recoil.
